Announcements

  • As you know there was a situation at the high school today that caused authorities to evacuate the high school to the Middle School and Grant School. The evacuation was prompted by a bomb threat. The police and the Office of Emergency Management were notified and students were evacuated. The high school was then searched with bomb sniffing dogs and the police have confirmed that there is no threat. All students and staff have returned to the high school and are proceeding with their schedule for the day. Students will be dismissed as normal.

It is clear that the practice drills and training we hold in each of our schools assisted in readying the students and staff for this incident. We would like to thank the Middlesex Prosecutor's Office, Middlesex Sheriff’s Office, the South Plainfield Police Department, the Office of Emergency Management, school administrators, teachers and parents for their assistance and support.

    Mr. Thomas Gialanella
    Superintendent of Schools
