About the Coach:
Coach Ferguson is in his 25th season coaching girls volleyball: 9 of those seasons being at SPHS with stops at Union Catholic HS and Bloomfield HS. He played intercollegiate volleyball for four years at NJIT with his senior year being team captain. He continued his volleyball career playing several years for various USVBA teams that traveled up and down the East Coast. Because of the team’s hardworking attitude and game toughness, he was voted GMC Conference Coach for girls’ volleyball.
About the Team:
The 2011-2012 was a very good season, we finished 9-12, but this team played well in every match and a play here or there would have caused a different record. Coach Porzio continued her fine work with the JV, with a major effort on skill development because the team consisted of mainly first time players. We are looking for an exciting 2012-2013 season.
