Kevin Hajduk is a graduate of South Plainfield High School where he excelled in wrestling, cross country, and various clubs. Born in South Plainfield, Mr. Hajduk holds an Ed.S. with distinction in Educational Leadership from Seton Hall University, in addition to a M.A. in Educational Technology from New Jersey City University and a B.S. in Special Education/Elementary Education from East Stroudsburg University. Prior to assuming the position of Principal at SPMS, he served at South Plainfield High School and Roosevelt Elementary School as a Special Education teacher. He also coached three sports: wrestling, cross country, and spring track. Mr. Hajduk was the Assistant Principal of the Middle School for the past two years before becoming the Principal of the Middle School in 2010.
Mr. Hajduk has received numerous honors and awards, including the New Jersey City University Distinguished Alumni Award and the NASA Sun/Earth Connection Outstanding Achievement Award for his outstanding record of achievements in science, innovation, and higher education policy. Mr. Hajduk has presented various educational initiatives with NASA scientists as a NASA Master Teacher in Alaska, the US Virgin Islands, Arizona, Utah, and South Carolina.
Goals: Among his main objectives this year as Principal of South Plainfield Middle School, Mr. Hajduk aims to challenge each student to take advantage of the abundant and meaningful opportunities at the Middle School, which will enhance their healthy growth as lifelong learners, ethical and democratic citizens, and increasingly competent, self-sufficient individuals who are optimistic about the future and prepared to succeed after high school in our ever-changing world. Each student within the learning community is expected to think rationally and critically about their decisions each day in order to grow and develop an appetite for learning and acquire needed skills and knowledge. Mr. Hajduk is an inspirational leader, who is committed to the highest achievement of all individuals at South Plainfield Middle School.
Mr. Hajduk will promote consistent improvementof the middle school, as well as, making student-centered decisions that are best for each child’s future.
When he is not at school, Mr. Hajduk enjoys traveling, watching sports, coaching the South Plainfield Summer Special Olympics team, and spending time with his wife, Angela, and sons, Joseph and Anthony.
