It was a chilly spring evening and all you could hear was the crack of the bat, the roar of the crowd, and the sound of a finely tuned band and chorus as the South Plainfield Middle School Concert Band performed at the Somerset Patriots vs. Long Island Ducks baseball game on April 27. The concert band played the National Anthem and the chorus performed “God Bless America.” Among those in attendance were 475 people there to support the band. Included in the group were students, teachers, family, and friends. The students have been working since January memorizing “The Star Spangled Banner” for this momentous occasion. This is the music department’s biggest fundraiser of the year and all funds go towards music awards for the students at the end of the year. The students’ performance and behavior made the Middle School Band and Chorus excellent representatives of our community.
If you would like the opportunity to see the Middle School Music Department, please attend the Middle School Spring Concert on May 17 at 7:00 pm at the South Plainfield Middle School Gym. The students’ performance and behavior made the Middle School Band excellent representatives of our community.
