Board and District Goals 2021-2022

Board Goals:

  1. The Board of Education will engage district stakeholders in planning and restructuring the district website to include a user-friendly platform for the school community. The updated website will include clearly-noted areas for the school community to navigate the website, locating pertinent information for our district families.
  2. The South Plainfield Board of Education will continue to bolster cybersecurity awareness with personnel by supporting and expanding the monitoring of district systems and resources using best guidance from State and Federal cybersecurity organizations.
  3. The South Plainfield Board of Education will support participation in a Local Government Energy Audit to ensure the district continues to utilize district funds in a fiscally responsible manner.  Upon completion of the Government Energy Audit process, the audit will be reviewed to determine if implementing an Energy Savings Improvement Plan is a viable method to generate district funds.

District Goals:

  1. The South Plainfield School District will identify students who experienced learning loss because of COVID-19.  The district will develop and implement a plan that includes focused remediation, differentiated instruction, STEM offerings, honors, and Advanced Placement courses to target students in need of support as well as students in need of academic acceleration through before, after, and daytime educational programming that ensures student success.
  2. The South Plainfield School District will continue to provide social-emotional learning support and educational programming for all students that address their overall wellbeing and mental health.  Programming will be secured and planned so that there is continuity and extension beyond the life of the American Rescue Plan and Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Funds.
  3. The South Plainfield School District will continue to review the effectiveness of the block schedule at South Plainfield High School.  The evaluation will include student and faculty surveys, voluntary focus groups, review of student assessment data including LinkIt!, marking period grades, and classroom assessments as a measure of student success.
