Opening Day Letter

Opening Day Letter

Dear Parents/Guardians, Students, Faculty, and Staff:

Welcome back to the 2020-21 school year. I hope you enjoyed your summer and are excited to begin another wonderful year in the South Plainfield School District. This year, we will begin in a fully remote learning environment and transition to a hybrid model.  Over the last few months, we have been working hard on a variety of projects including curriculum alignment, technology upgrades, and facility projects.

We are excited to provide both our teachers and students with a number of digital platforms to help enhance our virtual learning environment.  In addition, our curriculum has been aligned to meet any of the standards amended by the New Jersey Department of Education.

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new Chromebooks at the elementary level transforming the South Plainfield School District into a fully technology supported district.

Throughout the summer, multiple facility projects have been completed including the replacement of the roof and soffits at Riley School, ventilation upgrades and installation of new hallway floors at the High School, and the installation of new lockers and painting of the entire interior at the Middle School.

We are looking forward to a successful school year and partnership with the South Plainfield community.
